Carol M. Abel TROY – Carol M. McAllister Abel, 69, died peacefully Monday, April 1, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy with her family at her side. Born in Troy on December 24, 1943, she was the daughter of the late George V. and Bernadette T. Hebert McAllister. Carol was raised in Watervliet and was a graduate of Watervliet High School. Carol resided in Troy for most of her life where she raised her family. She worked at Troy City Hall for a brief period. For the past 25 years, she was employed by the Troy Record as a sorter in the mail room of the circulation department before retiring this past January. Carol loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing bingo and bowling and cherished her yearly trip to Clearwater, FL with her family. She was the wife of the late Clarence Abel, loving mother of Mark (Diana) Lyman of Stillwater, Lynn (Brian) McLaren of Troy, Stephen Abel of Colonie, Donald Munhall of Troy and Kurt (Tracy) Ratigan of Troy, dear sister of George R. McAllister of Troy and Ann Melvin of Schenectady. She is also survived by 9 adored grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet on Thursday from 4-7 pm with the funeral service at 6:30 pm. Contributions may be made to the
