Frances B. Anderson WATERFORD - Frances B. Anderson, 95, of Hudson River Rd. died Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Eddy Heritage House surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Arthur Brookley and Anna Hayner Conerty, and the beloved wife for 71 years of G. Raymond Anderson who died in December of 2012. Frances was born in Waterford and graduated from Waterford High School in 1936. She retired from the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance in 1983 after 28 years of service. She had previously studied accounting at Hudson Valley Community College and worked for the NYS Retirement System, and Ira Apple, CPA. She was a lifelong member of the Waterford United Methodist Church and was active in the Epworth League, Asbury Club, and United Methodist Women, in addition to teaching Sunday School. She was a member of the former Ionic Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Waterford and was a past Matron; she is a member of the Star of Liberty Chapter in Mechanicville. Frances was a gifted musician who could play any tune by ear and loved every kind of music from Bach to the Beatles and beyond and played the piano for Sunday School, Eastern Star and, especially, her family's enjoyment. Her family is sincerely grateful for the special care provided for her by the dedicated and loving staff of the Eddy Heritage House. Frances is survived by her three daughters, Marilyn A. Pendergast (William McMillen) of Loudonville, Marcia A. Dudden (Edward) and Alicia A. Smith (Gary) of Waterford. Also surviving are her grandchildren Patricia Novo (Jeffrey), Daniel Dudden (Erika), Derek Wimble and David Dudden as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 4 – 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Waterford United Methodist Church or Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in care of the funeral home office.
