Francis J. Carroll Obituary
Francis J. “Frank” Carroll SCHAGHTICOKE - Francis J. “Frank” Carroll, 83, of Stillwater Bridge Road and formerly of Raymertown, was called to heaven to be with his wife and daughter, surrounded by his family, Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the Diamond Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Schaghticoke following a short illness. Born in Raymertown, February 27, 1929, Frank was the son of the late William P. and Elizabeth (Murray) Carroll and for many years the husband of the late Margaret (Kohler) Carroll and more recently the special friend and companion of Sarah Ulan of Schaghticoke, who survives. Frank was a graduate of Troy High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Germany following World War II. At the time of his honorable discharge in November, 1952 he had earned the rank of Sergeant. For over 42 years Frank worked as a bricklayer and mason through the Bricklayers Union Local #2 in Albany and retired in 1990. During his retirement he enjoyed spending time at his camp in Wells fishing, hunting, and visiting with family and friends. Mr. Carroll is survived by his children, Debra and Dan Dougherty of Brunswick, Timothy and Denise Carroll of Pittstown, Diane and David LePage (Frank's best friend and rightr hand man) of Schaghticoke, and Teresa and Rich Brammer of Stillwater, two sisters, Ursula Riley of Center Brunswick and Janet (Paul) Maier of Vero Beach, FL, six grandchildren, Darci E. Dougherty, Danielle M. Dougherty, Amanda L. Carroll, Zachary M. Carroll, Kyle M. LePage, and Korey M. LePage, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Mr. Carroll was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret A. Carroll, two sisters, Catherine Eldred and Emily Ryan, and four brothers, Charles Carroll, John Carroll, Edmond Carroll, and William Carroll. A funeral service will be held on the Saturday following Thanksgiving, November 24, 2012, at 1:15 P.M. at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 New York Route 7, located in Raymertown. Inurnment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Schaghticoke. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on that Saturday from 11:00 A.M.– 1:00 P.M., prior to the service.
