Frank W. Capuano, Sr., SYCAWAY – Frank W. “Cappy” Capuano, Sr., 93, died peacefully Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy with his family at his side. Born in Troy on October 4, 1918, he was the son of the late Gerardo and Gaetana (Senatora) Capuano. Frank was a graduate of School 18 in Troy, served in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1938-40, and served in the US Army from 1940-45. Frank was a 65 year life member of the Tibbits Cadets in Troy. He was a Cub Scout Pack 64 Webelos den leader and a Boy Scout Troop 64 committee member. He performed with the Gentlemen Entertainment Group and was an active communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church in Troy and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a resident at the Eddy Heritage House in Troy, and was elected as President of the Residential Council. He enjoyed interacting with the staff and residents of the Eddy, and was awarded a trophy for the “best story teller.” Frank was known for always having a kind word for everyone, and liked to make people laugh. Frank was the beloved husband of the late Florence “Dolly” (Mooney) Capuano who died May 15, 2011, devoted father of Colleen Wallahora of Long Island, NY, Frank W. (Nancy) Capuano, Jr. of Virginia and Jan (Dave) Lajeunesse of Hoosick Falls, Grandfather of Joshua, Christina, Tiffany, Brian, Kristin, Jason and the late Adam, Great grandfather of Collin, Deja, Grace, Emma, William and Lauren, brother of Albert Capuano of Kingston, NY and the late Anthony and Pasquale Capuano, Lucia Mainello and Carmela Valoze. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 am from the Doran Funeral Home, 9 South Lake Avenue and at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Victory Church, Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 pm.
