George R. Jorgensen Obituary
George R. Jorgensen WYNANTSKILL - George R. Jorgensen, age 77, beloved husband of Gail Farmer Jorgensen died on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Born in Hoosick Falls, he was son of the late George and Alice Jones Jorgensen. He attended Averill Park High School and Hudson Valley Community College and was a veteran of the US Air Force. Mr. Jorgensen work for 30 years for the Delaware and Hudson Railroad and later Amtrak as a Carman repairing the trains, retiring in 1996. He lived in Wynantskill for the last 50 years. He and his wife enjoyed working craft shows, was a member of the North Greenbush Snowmobile Club and avid fan of the NY Yankees and the NY Giants and a 10 year season ticket holder of the Tri-City Valley Cats. Survivors in addition to his wife include his 2 sons, Craig R. Jorgensen of Colonie and Eric G. Jorgensen of Richmond, VA., his sister, Fay Middleton of Nobleton, FL, his extended family, Carol Coonradt and Kathy Durivage and his loving granddaughters, Courtney Durivage and Kelly Coonradt, all of North Greenbush. He is also survived by a niece and 2 nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Benton for years of care and the 6th floor nurses at Samaritan Hospital for their comforting care. The funeral will be from the Thomas S. Connolly Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Rd., Wynantskill on Saturday at 10 AM with Deacon Paul Carney of St. John's Episcopal Church, Troy, officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy. Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7 PM. Contributions to St. John's Episcopal Church, 146 First St., Troy, NY 12180 in memory of Mr. Jorgensen would be appreciated.
