Gisela Renate Schlederer TROY – Gisela Kuriatnik Schlederer, 71 of Plank Road died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany. Born in Berlin, Germany she was the daughter of Elizabeth Heck Kuriatnik of Watervliet and the late Erwin Buehle, stepdaughter of the late Fedor Kuriatnik and wife of Edmund Schlederer of Troy. They were married on July 8, 1961 and would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. Gisela came to the United States in 1950 at the age of nine. She was raised in Watervliet and graduated from Watervliet High School. She was a clerk with the New York State Department of Tax and Finance for 20 years. Gisela was a lifetime member of the Troy Germania Hall where she was a former Board of Director and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was treasurer of the German dance club S.V. Alpenklang for 25 years. Gisela was devoted to her family, she loved her children and grandchildren, she loved all the family gatherings, which were a source of deep joy to her. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Edmund to Europe and the Caribbean and her bird “Herbie” and dog “Willie”. She was a member of Transfiguration Parish, Speigletown. Survivors in addition to her husband, Edmund and mother, Elizabeth, include her three children Monika E. Wiwczar, John Schlederer (D'Maria Klee), Edmund F. Schlederer (Karen) all of Troy, three grandchildren Peter M. Wiwczar, Jordan Towey, Camden Rose Schlederer, two sisters Helen Wilkinson (Ronald) of Watervliet, Mariane Leinweber (Gregory) of Troy, several nieces and nephews and a great niece. Funeral services will be 9:15 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013 from the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh and at 10:00 a.m. at Transfiguration Parish, 50 Hillview Drive, Speigletown, with Rev. George P. Fleming officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Troy. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
