Joan E. Rasmussen TROY- Joan E. Rasmussen, 76,of Brunswick passed away peacefully on October 4,2013 at the Evergreen Commons in East Greenbush surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy she was the daughter of the late Gertrude Connors of Troy and John Manupella of California. Joan was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, Class of '56 and retired as the Town Clerk of Brunswick after 25 years of faithful service. She volunteered as a Cub Scout leader and at the Lansingburgh Boys & Girls Club and at Turnpike Elementary School. Joan was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Brunswick Elks Club. Joan and Alan loved to travel in their RV. They went to Fish Creek every summer for two weeks with their children and friends, in the fall to Maine and Myrtle Beach and a three month trip in 1994 across the country that included Alaska. A trip to remember. She just loved life and being with family and friends, always having that beautiful smile for everyone. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Alan Rasmussen Sr. of Brunswick , her devoted children, Lynn Pfitz of Pleasantdale and Alan Rasmussen Jr. and his wife Karen of Troy, her loving sister, Marion Scensy (Stanley) of Cohoes, grand children, Erika and Danny Pfitz of Troy , Christopher (fiancé Lidsay) Rasmussen of Troy , Kayla Rasmussen and Brandon Rasmussen both of Brunswick. Special and loving aunt of Sharon Santoro (Joseph) of Cohoes, and Michael Scesny (Angela) of Brunswick and great aunt of Betsy Santoro and Joseph Santoro (Carolyn) of Cohoes, Tony Santoro of Troy and Michael and Anthony Scesny of Brunswick. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 am from St. Augustine's Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Friends are invited and may call at the Frank P. McDonald & Son Funeral Home 870 Second Avenue (124th & 125th Streets) in Lansingburgh on Sunday from 3 to 6 pm. The internment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Troy. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Lansinburgh Boys & Girls Club, 501 Fourth Avenue, Troy, NY 12182.
