Joan M. Cloutier NORTH GREENBUSH - Joan M. Cloutier (Prediger), 83 formerly of Livingston St. (RT-142, Brunswick) died on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Van Rensselaer Manor after an illness. Born in Watervliet, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Marie Schleich Prediger and the beloved wife of over 52 years of Paul Robert Cloutier until his passing in 2005. She was a graduate of CCHS, Class of 1947 and earned her Diploma in Nursing from St. Peter’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1951. Mrs. Cloutier had been a Registered Nurse at the Leonard Hospital in Lansingburgh for 30 years. Joan was actively involved with her husband in the Korean War Veteran’s Northeast New York Chapter of which he was a Past President and had been a daily communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh. After retiring from nursing Joan immersed herself in volunteer work caring for others who were in need. Joan’s other passions included traveling with her husband, spending time with her family at their summer place on Taconic Lake in Grafton, and playing Bridge. Devoted mother of David Cloutier and his wife Christine of Latham, Paul Cloutier and his wife Mary of Glenmont, Christine Mihal and her husband Mark of Ramsey, NJ and Karen Cloutier and her husband Larry Rice of East Greenbush, beloved sister of the late Gail Pfau, cherished grandmother of Renee (Patrick) Perdue, Andrea (Renchy) Sanchez, Stephen Mihal, Allison Mihal, Kathryn Cloutier, Madelyn Cloutier, and adored great grandmother of Rachely, Rosalynn and Emily. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 7th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. (Corner of 115th Street and Fourth Avenue) in Lansingburgh on Sunday, April 6th from 4 to 7 p.m. Joan’s family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of C3 of the Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home.
