TROY - Lawrence J. Currier, Jr., 65, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, October 20, 2012. Born in Troy, Larry was a lifelong area resident.
He retired in 1999 from Bendix Friction Materials of Green Island after 32 years of service. Larry loved boating and enjoyed building his dream boat landing. He spent his retirement fishing, gardening, traveling and researching family genealogy. Most of all he loved his "Homestead" and took great pride in remodeling it from top to bottom. He was a lifetime NY Jets fan and every game was a family event.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Isabella Covey Currier. He was the proud dad of Timothy (Melissa) Currier, Shawn (Randy) Hines and Christina (Paul) Haupt, all of Troy. The happiest years of his life was being "PAPA" to his 5 grandchildren: Courtney, Jarret, Paul, Andrew and Jillian all of Troy. He is also survived by his loving sister, Eleanor Laviolette of Troy.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, October 27th at 11 o'clock from the Cornerstone Community Church, 570 3rd Avenue (corner of 115th St.) Lansingburgh, with the Rev. E. Allen Siebold officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call at the church on Saturday morning at 10 am (1 hour prior to the service). Fellowship will immediately follow the service in the Cornerstone Community Church Hall.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Larry's name may be made to the Cornerstone Community Church.
We are so thankful to have had you in our lives. You were our rock when we needed you the most. With your unwavering strength, love and support you were the catalyst for our healing. Forever you will be in our hearts. Thank you for being a loving husband and dad.
