Lawrence Kerwin Obituary

KERWIN, LAWRENCE WYNANTSKILL - Lawrence M. (Doc ) Kerwin 74 of Wynantskill passed into eternal rest on Saturday morning at St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by his loving and devoted family. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Lawrence W. and Catherine Mullen Kerwin and the loving husband of Anne Guerin Kerwin of Wynantskill. He had served his country in the US Coast Guard and worked for many years in the automotive industry. He enjoyed spending time with his family in Cape Cod, fishing and boating on Lake George and golfing. He was a big Notre Dame Football fan as well as a New England Patriots fan. But the passion of his life was always his family. In addition to his wife Anne, Doc is survived by his children Susan Marie ( Jim ) Hines of Castleton, Lawrence M. Kerwin of Averill Park, Jacqueline Anne ( Brian ) O'Keefe of Berne , Sean J. ( Janice ) Kerwin of Wynantskill, Patrick W. ( Wendy ) Kerwin of Averill Park and Peter S. Kerwin of Brunswick. He was the very proud grandfather of Kelly, Matthew, Abbey, Bradley, Brenden, Brooke, Ashley, Annabella, Sadie, Caitlin, Shannon and Shelby. He is also survived by his great -grand son Ethan. Doc , was the brother of Maureen ( Bill ) Jerome, Janice ( Charles ) Renna, Kay ( Sam ) Francis, William ( Kathy ) Kerwin, Stephen ( Jean ) Kerwin, Gerald Kerwin and Dennis ( Jane ) Kerwin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. And his very special canine friend Mollie. The funeral service for Doc will be held on Thursday morning at 8:45 am at The Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 Third Street Troy and at 9:30 am at St. Jude The Apostle Church in Wynantskill where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Rev. Anthony Ligato. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-7PM. Interment Evergreen Cemetery in Wynantskill. Contributions in Doc's memory may be made to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County 295 Valleyview Blvd. Rensselaer. Please sign the guestbook at rememberingny.us/troyrecord
