Mary A. Bornt RAYMERTOWN - Mary A. (Lang) Bornt, 98, a longtime Raymertown resident, died peacefully, Friday, October 25, 2013, at her home, surrounded and supported by her loving family, following a short illness. Born in Troy, October 8, 1915, Mary was the daughter of the late Robert T. and Charlotte (MacRoberts) Lang and for over 65 years the wife of the late Leslie A. Bornt who predeceased her in 2002. Mrs. Bornt was educated in Troy City Schools and the Clums Corners District #6 Brick Schoolhouse in Brunswick. As a young woman, she worked for a short time as a housekeeper and later as an order clerk at the former Danish's Poultry Farm in Brunswick. More recently she has been a home maker, caring for her husband and home and raising her children and grandchildren. Mary was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Raymertown, the church's “Luther League” and assisted at many of the dinners held at the church hall. Additionally shwe was a member of the former Raymertown Volunteer Fire Company's Ladies Auxiliary and assisted as a Cub Scout leader for the Raymertown Boy Scout Troop. Mary was a known in the hamlet as a wonderful baker and exceptional cook and in her quiet time liked to work in her beautiful flower gardens. Mrs. Bornt is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald L. and Edie Bornt of Raymertown, and Robert A. and Emily Bornt and Ronald T. and Bonnie Bornt of Melrose, a brother and a sister, Paul (Jackie) Lang and Luella (Jermone) Curley of Melrose, a sister-in-law, S. Martha Lang of Raymertown, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, a nephew and a very special friend and caregiver, Jeanette Kane of Stephentown. In addition to her parents and husband, two brothers, the late Robert Lang and Thomas Lang, also predeceased her. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. at the Howard B. Tate and Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 New York Route 7, located in Raymertown with family friend Gaylord Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 3:00-7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to either the Raymertown Volunteer Fire Company, 43 Mason Lane, Raymertown, NY 12180 or Community Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd. Rensselaer, NY 12144 in memory of Mary A. Bornt.
