I had the honor of knowing Richard (although my friends and I called him Skeets) in the early 70's in South Dakota. I remember him as tall, skinny and very knowledgeable in a variety of topics. As smart as he was though, he could still be beat in a game of Pinochle! Oh how he hated that!
I haven't seen or heard from Skeets in decades but that isn't to say I don't remember him clearly and quite fondly. The world has lost someone who brought intelligent conversation, humor and love to many people. My sincere condolences go out to the family. I'm so sorry for your loss.
