Ronald T. Abbott Obituary
Ronald T. Abbott WYNANTSKILL – Ronald T. Abbott, 77, died peacefully, with his family surrounding him, on Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Born in Buffalo, son of the late Theodore and Stasia Quay Abbott, he was raised in Green Island and has resided in Wynantskill for the last 41 years. Ron was employed by the Watervliet Arsenal for 30 years, retiring in 1995. He was an accomplished musician, playing the keyboard, accordion and piano and had performed for many years in his band “The Charades” and in recent years volunteered his musical talents at the VanRensselaer Manor to entertain the residents. He was also an avid golfer. He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Linda Nelson Abbott; his children, Jean (Tom) Pascucci, Ronald (Deborah) Abbott, Robert (Fran) Abbott, Rebecca (David) Bloomfield, James (Torree) Abbott, Maria (David) Rootes, William (Shelly) Abbott and Susan (Matthew) Becker; his sister, Phyllis (Ronald) Castle; and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the McNulty Funeral Home, 147 Hudson Avenue, Green Island on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Wynantskill. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
