Obituary Condolences

T. Joseph Connolly TROY – T. Joseph “Joe” Connolly, 89, of Marshland Court, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Samaritan Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Charles Connolly and Marie McKernan Connolly, and the loving husband of 61 years to the late Margaret McCaughin Connolly, who passed away in 2011. Raised and educated in Lansingburgh, Joe was a graduate of Haskell School and Lansingburgh High School, class of 1942. He was proud to be the class president. Joe was a United States Army Air force veteran during World War II, serving in Italy. After serving his country, he returned to school and graduated from Albany College of Pharmacy, class of 1949. He was a pharmaceutical salesman for twenty years for Parke-Davis, and later became the director of the Dental and Drug Programs at Blue Cross/Blue Shield, until his retirement in 1986. In addition, Joe was a part-time pharmacist for Green Island Pharmacy. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church, Troy. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and selfless caregiver to those he loved. The family would like to thank the 4th floor nurses and doctors at Samaritan Hospital for their compassionate care. Survivors include his daughter Colleen Grant (Robert) of Westport, CT and several nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by three sisters, Marie Connolly, Helen Connolly, Pauline Palitsch, and his brother C. Edward Connolly. Funeral services will be 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, Troy, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
