Vernon A. “Sonny” Coonradt Jr. AVERILL PARK - Vernon A. “Sonny” Coonradt Jr., 62, of Totem Lodge Road, Town of Nassau, died at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Saturday April 12, 2014 after a long illness. Born in Albany, Sonny was the son of the late Vernon and Helen Glock Coonradt and the beloved husband for 33 years of Anne Hoffman Coonradt. Sonny was a lifelong resident of the area and attended the Averill Park Schools. He was a Maintenance Supervisor at the Walmart in East Greenbush from 1992-2010 and had previously worked for the former Tilley Ladder, and Holbrook Lumber Co. Sonny enjoyed working with and being a crew chief for Kyle Hoffman Racing. He enjoyed working with his hands, the outdoors, was involved with Scouting with his sons,was an animal lover and an avid Beatles fan. Survivors in addition to his wife include his children Andrew Coonradt of Somerville, MA. Christine (Jim LaMountain) Coonradt of Averill Park, and PFC David Coonradt (serving in National Guard) of Averill Park, his sisters Susan Coonradt of Clifton Park and Robin (Kenneth) Piacente of Mechanicville, his grandaughter Skylar Rose “Little Peanut” LaMountain, and his canine girlfriend Holly. Funeral Thursday 10 a.m. at the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel 2691 NY 43 at Glass Lake Averill Park. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral chapel on Wednesday 4-7 p.m. Interment St. Henry’s Cemetery. If desired donations in memory of Vernon A.
