William C. Persons Sr. BOYNTONVILLE - William C. “Bill” Persons Sr., 63, of Groveside Road, died peacefully, Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington following a short illness. Born in Ticonderoga, September 28, 1950, Bill was the son of the late George E. and Rachel (Higgins) Persons and for ten years the husband of Jane (Young) Persons of Boyntonville who survives. Bill was a graduate of Hoosick Falls High School and attended the University of Connecticut where he studied Farm Management and Animal Husbandry. For many years, (over 20), Bill was employed as a mechanic at Capital Tractor in Greenwich and Brunswick. More recently he partnered with his wife and has been the owner and operator of JB Persons Farms in Boyntonville, specializing in raising organic produce and farm products. Additionally, for the past seven years he subcontracted to perform custom farm work including corn management services for Herrington Farms in Brunswick. Bill enjoyed his wife's cooking, spending time with his children and grandchildren, fishing, the occasional round of golf with his boys, horseback riding and was an animal lover. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by four sons and a daughter, William C. Persons Jr. of Malta, Pastor Darren and Elizabeth Persons of Ballston Lake, Craig and Lauren Persons of Albany, Jamie and Ethan Foucher of Boyntonville and Jeffrey J. Coonradt of Boyntonville, a sister and two brothers, Irene Cardinal of Ormand Beach FL, Earl Persons of Phoenix, AZ and James Persons of Pataluma, CA, a paternal aunt, Lucy Persons of North Creek, eight grandchildren, Gavin Persons, Andrew Persons, Lucas Persons, Titus Persons, Owen Persons, Tucker Persons, Taylor Persons and Emalee Foucher and a special friend and caregiver, David Maxwell. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his father and mother-in-law, Willard and Marion Young and two brothers-in-law, Joseph Young and James Young. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 3, 2013, from 4:00-7:00 P.M., at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 New York Route 7, located in Raymertown. A private funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers, if desired, may be made to the Building Fund, c/o Olde Liberty Baptist Church, 600 New York Route 67, Malta, NY 12020 in memory of Bill Persons
