William Roger Charbonneau Obituary
TROY - William Roger Charbonneau went home to the Lord Thursday, July 19, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy.
Mr. Charbonneau was born Oct. 28, 1929, in Cohoes to the late Alfred Joseph Charbonneau and Beatrice Mary Oshier Charbonneau.
He was a 1947 graduate of Cohoes High School, where he excelled as an athlete in three sports.
Mr. Charbonneau was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Charbonneau was employed as a cable splicer for more than 37 years by the former Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. and is a member of their 25-year club.
He remained an avid sports fan and bowled with the Trojan Keglers for many years. He was a former member of the Troy Elks Lodge, playing in its dart league.
Mr. Charbonneau is survived by his wife of 57 years, June Lyons Charbonneau; a son, William J. Charbonneau (Susan); and two grandchildren, William R. Charbonneau and Sarah K. Charbonneau.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Alfred J. Charbonneau.
At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours.
Funeral services will be private.
