Mary Doyle Hunt, 77, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at home surrounded by her family. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Brigid Dolan Doyle. She was a graduate of the former Vincentian Institute and Russell Sage College.
Mary had a varied career working for the state Department of Health's Wadsworth Center, the Albany Public School system at School No. 16 and the Montessori Magnet School and as a real estate agent.
She was a board member of St. Anne's Institute and a communicant of Mater Christi Church.
She was the wife of the late William E. Hunt; mother of Ann Leddy (Dennis), Susan McDowell (Sean), and Peggy Finlay (Brian); twin sister of Margaret Fleming (Dr. Michael); grandmother of Megan, Patrick and Ryan Leddy, Kenny and Jake McDowell, Brian and Nora Finlay; aunt of Erin Puleo
(Dr. James) and Peggy Fritz (Robert); great aunt of Brigid, Jay and Sean Puleo, Mary, Maggie, Michael and Kevin Fritz; dear friend of Joe Bogdanowicz.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. James V. Puleo and her nieces Erin and Peggy for their outstanding care and compassion during Mary's illness.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:45 a.m. at McVeigh funeral home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Parish of Mater Christi, Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany, Friday from 3-7 p.m. Burial will follow the Mass at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Polycystic Kidney Disease Fndn., 8330 Ward Parkway, Suite 510, Kansas City, MO. 64114.
