Arnold J. “Skip” McCann TROY - Arnold J. “Skip” McCann, 79, of Country Way, died Sunday March 9, 2014 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy he was the son of the late Edmund and Helen Teich McCann. He was a 1953 graduate of Catholic Central High School. Skip had been employed as a salesman by the DeNooyer Auto Group for 8 years and retired in 1996. Prior to that he had been employed at Ken Goeway Dodge and Cartwright Sales and Service in Troy. He had also been a member of the Troy Fire Department. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Veterans of Lansingburgh as well as the North Greenbush Lodge of Elks. Ship had won numerous achievement awards while in the auto sales field. He was an avid NY Giants fan. He enjoyed skiing and also camping with his friends Jerry and Ann Hart, Phyllis and Bob Harris, Jake and Marty McLaughlin, Bob and Barbara Kennedy and Mike and Micki Biski. Skip was the husband of he late Ann Caulfield McCann who died in 2011. He is the father of Kurt McCann (Danielle) of Easton and Timothy McCann (Terri) of Troy. Also surviving is his brother Edmund McCann of Troy, his grandchildren Nellie Ann McCann and Logan Audi, several nieces and nephews as well as his canine grandson Luke. Funeral services will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford. Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. Those who wish may make contributions to the Brunswick Fire Department #1 in care of the funeral home office.
