Willilam C. Hale Obituary
William C. Hale, 75, of Wynantskill, passed into eternal rest on Friday evening, March 14, 2014, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born in Troy and was the son of the late Nelson and Agnes Lewis Hale and loving husband of Gloria Duffney Hale of Wynantskill. Bill served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1956 to 1962. He had been employed for 35 years at Sysco Foods. Bill had been on the diving team at Troy High School and again when he was in the Air Force. He enjoyed watching golf on television and was an avid New York Jets fan. But the passion in Bill's life was always his family.
In addition to his wife, Gloria, Bill is also survived by his sons William (Megan) Hale of Ballston Lake, David (Amy) Hale of Wynantskill, Kevin (Amy) Hale of Colorado and Dennis (Jennifer) Hale of Colorado. Bill is also survived by nine grandchildren, Holland, Dylan, Nicholas, Benjamin, Olivia, Ryann ,Payton, Zoe, and Colton. He was the brother of Chub Hale and Annis Draiss and was pre-deceased by his brother Nelson Hale.
The funeral service for Bill will be held on Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. at The Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third St., Troy, with Rev. Anthony Ligato, pastor of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m.
Interment, Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
