Gloria M. Bilynsky DURHAM, NH - Gloria M. Bilynsky, 96 of Durham, NH, formerly of Cohoes, NY, died peacefully Sunday May 4, 2014 in Exeter, NH. She was born December 15, 1917 in Cohoes, the daughter of the late Daniel and Sophie (Pastuch) Zalopany. She was a graduate of Cohoes High School and Albany Business College. Gloria was an accomplished pianist studying at the Troy (NY) Conservatory of Music. Gloria married her beloved husband, the late Joseph Bilynsky, on January 5, 1951. Together they raised their three children Eugenia, Stephanie, and Walter. Gloria and Joseph shared 51 years of loving marriage until Joseph passed away on October 20, 2002. Gloria was very proud of her Ukrainian Heritage. She was a devout communicant of Sts. Peter and Paul’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Cohoes and a member of the church choir, the Parish Women’s Club, and the parish PTA. She was a devoted and loving stay-at-home mom. Gloria enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and meeting people. She will lovingly be remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Andrij Dobriansky, and her sister, Olga Rakoczy. Gloria is survived by her two daughters Eugenia and husband George Kufel of Waterford, NY, and Stephanie Dobriansky of New York City, NY, and son Walter, and wife Tracy Bilynsky of Epping, NH. She also leaves 10 grandchildren. 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ltd 105 Vliet Blvd Cohoes, NY Friday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial from Sts. Peter & Paul’s Ukrainian Catholic Church Friday at 10:00. Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul’s Ukrainian Cemetery in Waterford. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-6 pm. A Panakhyda Service will be held Thursday at 6:00 pm in the funeral home.
