George Dewitt Paddock Hoosick Falls - George Dewitt Paddock 82, passed away on Saturday May 31, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, Vermont. He resided on the Babcock Lake Road in the Town of Hoosick. He was born on May 5, 1931 in Bennington, Vermont, son of the late Clayton and Lillian (Saunders) Paddock. George attended schools in Hoosick Falls. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving from 1952-1954. He worked in the construction business in the Troy and Albany areas, out of the local 154, now local 190. Survivors include his sister Helen Wagar of Babcock Lake Road in the Town of Hoosick, also many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two sisters and three brothers. A Memorial service will be held on Friday June 6, at 4:00 pm from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at the Hoosick Rural Cemetery, Hoosick, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 pm until the start of the service. Memorial contributions in George’s memory may be made to the Activity Fund at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington, VT, through the funeral home.
