Albert Keil Zillgitt SOUTH TROY - Albert Keil Zillgitt, 53, of Burden Lake, formerly of South Troy passed into eternal rest on Wednesday July 16, 2014, at his residence. Born in South Troy he was the son of E. Jane Zillgitt Donnelly of Troy and the late William H. Zillgitt Jr. He had been employed at Tri- State Electric Motors of Troy from 1978 to 2008. He learned the boiler business from Henry Fleig Industrial Boilers. After learning the business he joined T. Lemme working on many large building projects including several, colleges, and Hospitals in the Tri city area. Albert was very proud to have worked to install the geothermal system at SUNY Cobleskill one of the first projects of its kind in upstate New York He retired as a member of the Local UA 7 plumbers and steam fitters of Albany New York. Albert enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping ,playing darts and pool. He also worked at the Harrison Tavern in Troy for many years bringing laughter to many happy customers. But mostly he loved being with his extended family and friends spending his days being self appointed safety patrol on Burden Lake. He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Troy. In addition to his mother, Albert is also survived by his sisters, Margaret Davis, Jane Snay and Joanne Donnelly and his brothers Robert, Michael and James Zillgitt. He was pre- deceased by his brother William Zillgitt and step father Joseph Donnelly. Albert is also survived by his life partner Bonniejo Willard, his step daughter Jessica Johnson, his grandchildren Jack and Julia Johnson ,and his former wife Judith Downer- Zillgitt. Albert was the loving uncle to Debby, Jill Wendy, Frank Davis, Jennifer and David Skelton,Tina and Danny Snay, Amanda Zillgitt, Misty and Joseph Bensalah and Michael and Nicholas Zillgitt. He is also survived by great nieces and great nephews and many friends. The funeral service for Albert will be held on Tuesday morning at 8:45 am from The Wm. Leahy Funeral home 336 Third Street Troy and at 9:30 at St. Joseph’s Church in Troy where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Monday from 3-7PM Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery Troy
