Finley O. Wark, Jr. TROY - Finley Orr Wark, Jr., 69, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Albany, NY on September 12, 1944, he was the son of the late Finley and Helen Wark. Finley was previously employed at the Alcoholism Center of Rensselaer County (Fellowship Center) where he worked in the Mobile Alcohol Abuse Intervention Service Unit, as an Alcoholism Counselor and as the Outreach Program Coordinator. His own experiences enabled him to relate and empathize with the many people he helped through the years. After leaving the Substance Abuse field, he owned and operated his own Vending business which included an ice cream truck and hot dog cart. Throughout his life he continued to help those struggling with addiction. Finley enjoyed antiques, rock/gem mining and the company and activities with his friends where he resided. He is survived by his children, Michelle Coy (Shawn) of Kingsport, TN; Stacie Cachioli (Michael) of Schaghticoke, NY; Justin Wark of Clifton Park, NY; his granddaughters, Amelia and Gianna Cachioli; siblings, Agnes Brozowski (Tony), Richard Wark (Anne), Linda DiPace (Tom); brother in-law, Ronald Desrosiers; many nieces, nephews and friends who were very special to him; and his faithful feline companion, Louie, who truly was his best friend. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Carol Desrosiers. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 4 p.m. at the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue, Troy. Calling hours will precede the service from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Samaritan Hospital (6th floor) and The Community Hospice of Rensselaer for all of the care given to Finley. A special thank you to his sister and brother in-law, Linda and Tom for being there every step of the way.
