Richard S. Bruno Troy - Richard S. Bruno, 70, of Troy, devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed suddenly into God’s loving arms at The Albany Medical Center on Sunday August 31, 2014, surrounded by the family he loved. Rick was born in Troy and was the son of the late Frank Bruno and Lorraine Rinaldi Bruno and the loving husband of Mary Ann Scaramozza Bruno. Rick was retired from the Albany Post Office after 35 years of service retiring in June of 1999. He was employed after his retirement by Hannaford Markets for 10 years and most recently Rensselaer County Department for the Aging, Meals on Wheels program which he thoroughly enjoyed. Rick served in the United States Army from 1965 – 1967 serving in the Vietnam War. Rick was a member of the VFW Veterans Post in Wynantskill, St. Michael’s Men’s Club and was a past member of The Knights of St. Jude. Rick was a former member of St. Jude’s Church, Wynantskill and for the last 25 years a communicant of St. Michael’s the Archangel Church in Troy. In addition to his wife Mary Ann, Rick is also survived by his loving children Joseph and Julie Ann Bruno of Troy and his special granddaughter Brianna Julia who called him Poppy and he referred to her as “ his sidekick” and went everywhere with her grandfather. Rick is also survived by his brother-in-law Louis Scaramozza. Rick was predeceased by his sisters Barbara Martone Geene and Cheryl Loftfield. Rick is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Rick will be held on Friday morning at 11 AM St. Michael The Archangel Church in Troy where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated .Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the CHURCH Friday from 9:30 AM to 11 am .
