Louis Hasko Sr. Obituary
HASKO, SR., LOUIS COHOES - Louis M. Hasko, Sr., of Cohoes, died Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the VanRensselaer Manor in North Greenbush. He was the beloved husband of the late Anne Guzek Hasko, who died in 2003. Born in Mechanicville, son of the late Joseph and Amelia Hasko, he resided in Cohoes most of his lifetime. Lou had been employed as a heavy equipment operator at GE in Schenectady and then he and his wife, Anne, started the family excavating business in 1950, which he ran until retiring in 2005. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Church in Cohoes. He is the loving father of Louis "Buck" (Laura) Hasko, Jr. of Glenville, David J. Hasko of Cohoes, Connie Hasko of Iona and the late Joey Hasko; cherished grandfather of Rebecca, Jesse and Joshua Hasko and Anna Wettergreen; and brother of Elaine (Charles) Dix of Waterford and the late Mamie Suhowatsky, John, Matthew and Gus Hasko. Funeral services will be held at the McNulty Funeral Home, 147 Hudson Avenue, Green Island on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be beside his wife and son in St. Michael's Cemetery in Waterford. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. The family wishes to acknowledge the kindness and loving care given to our father on the A3 Unit at VanRensselaer Manor, with special thanks to Anna Wineglass and Patrice Walker. Lou was known to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. In lieu of flowers, his family encourages you to show a random act of kindness in his memory.
