VAZZANA, VINCENT TROY - Vincent A. Vazzana 84 of Troy passed into eternal rest suddenly Sunday Dec 5, 2010 in Troy. Born in Troy Vince was the son of the late Sylvester and Martha Gaetano Vazzana,Sylvester was a master shoe maker for many years in Troy. and loving husband of Norma Frament Vazzana of Troy .Vince graduated from School 12 in Troy and Troy High School. He also graduated from the Emma Willard Conservatory of Music in Troy. Vince enlisted in the US Army at the age of 17 years old. He served in the Asiatic and Pacific Theater and the Phiippines serving with the 158th Regimental Combat Team who nickname was "The Bushmasters " Vince was honorably discharged in 1946.Vince then attended and graduated from Siena College in Loudonville .After graduation Vince joined General Electric in Schenectady in 1952.He graduated from the General Electric Finiacial program as an accountant and then worked for GE from 1952- 1981 after 29 years of service. Vince was a well known area violinist and enjoyed playing area churches including ST. Joseph's Church. He played for funerals, weddings and loved playing at The Troy Victorian Stroll. Vince was very active at the church he loved St. Joseph's. He enjoyed working at St. Joseph's Bazaars ,he was a former member of St. Joseph's Holy Name Society and the parish council. Vince became an "extra " in many movies that were filmed in Troy area including, Bostonians, Ironweed, Billy Bathgate, Scent of a Woman and the Age of Innoncence In addition to his wife, Norma ,Vince is survived by his son Vincent G. ( Joanne ) Vazzana of Niskayuna and was pre- deceased by his daughter Michelina Marie Tine and his son John Vincent Vazzana. Vince was also pre- deceased by his two brothers Dr. Anthony Vazzana former music dept head of The University of Southern Californa and Richard Vazzana former VP and General Manager of WTRY-Whsh radio station. Vince is also survived by his grandchildren Carissa Michelina,Cristina Anne Vazzana, Alex and Francesco Tine He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral serivce for Vince will be held on Wednesday morning at 9 am at The Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 Third Street Troy and at 9:30 at St. Joseph's Church in Troy where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to arttend and may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4- 7pm. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery.
