Luther Rackley Memoriam

RACKLEY Tribute To Luther Rackley, Sr. Pops, we honor and thank you on Father's Day. We have grown as you would have wanted and have children who admire and emulate your special ways : Always be caring and concerned about your neighbors- especially the children, the elderly and the less fortunate. You would be happy to know that your favorite 1965 T.H.S. Basketball Team is being honored and you need to find "Rosey". We all miss your loving guidance. With Love and Admiration Willie & Samme, Billy, Joey, Luther, Jr., Joe, and all Our Brothers and Sisters

Daddy I should have written this 2 days ago, which was your birthday. Words cannot explain how much I miss you. Your wisdom, your sense of humor and you just being you. I am going through a lot now and you were always my confidant. I will try to do better and write in this book at least on father's day and your birthday. Love, Love!!!!

Hello daddy. It's time for me to talk with you again. I have been very ill. Arthritis all over my body. My fingers, wrists, both shoulders, both knees, neck, lower and upper back. I can't talk freely to anyone, but you Ace. I knew you loved me and I can still feel your presence. Lori has a little Tevy. She is so adorable. I will talk to you again soon.

Luther, Tom and I were so sorry to hear that you lost your father. I know you thought the world of him. We first heard it was you, and are glad to know that the reports in Cincinnati of your passing were mistaken. Tom and I certainly hope you are well . Sandy Schlager

Luther Rackley,Sr was the greatest grandfather of all time. I will forever continue living my life based on the structure and wisdom he has instilled in me from my youth. Even though he never disciplined me in a physical manner his WORD was enough to even make me straighten out. Granddad I will forever remember how you drove us back and forth to Philadelphia to visit our mom. Even my father had great respect for Luther,Sr. All he had to do is call and my DAD's response would ok boys get ready your grandfather is on his way. Granddad I love you dearly and to this day share the sermons and wisdom you gave me to your great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. So in your words granddad "Big Head" is holding it down finally, (TEARS) miss and love you immensely...

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

I was so sorry to see your piece for your father! I did not know that he had gone. He lit up the floor at THS and with the entire team made us proud to be from Troy High, when that wasn't considered something to be proud of!
