Giovannina Milanese Memmo TROY – Giovannina Milanese Memmo, 95 former Jefferson Street resident, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Van Rensselaer Manor. Born in Cervinara, Avellino, Italy, June 24, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe Milanese and Maria Teresa Marro Milanese and wife of the late John Memmo. She lived in Troy, where she worked at the former Cluett Peaboby & Co. and Russell Sage College in Troy. Giovannina was devoted to her family and they were a source of deep joy to her; she was a loving sister and aunt, she leaves behind a rich legacy of a life of goodness, service and respect for all people. Giovannina was a woman of faith and service and will be remembered as a gracious, thoughtful person who treasured her family and friends. Survivors include three step daughters Rosa Maddalla of Rensselaer, Josephine Gimondo, Glora Pacella both of Albany, a sister Nicolina Palma of Albany and many loving nieces and nephews. Giovannina was predeceased by two sisters, Angela Moscatiello and Filomena Godio, two brothers Girolamo Milanese and Carlo Milanese. Giovannina's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Van Rensselaer Manor for her care. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at St. Anthony's Church, Troy, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mario Julian. Calling hours will be held 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass at church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. Arrangements by Bizzarro Funeral Home.
