Christine M. Ernst TROY - Christine M. “Chris” Ernst, 47 of Tibbits Avenue, peacefully entered into eternal life in the loving comfort of her family on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy. Born and educated in Albany, she was the daughter of the late John Yavonditte and Hazel Hicks Esten. Chris recently retired as Supervisor of Senate Operators for the New York State Senate in Albany where she had been employed for nearly twenty years. She had also been employed as a barmaid at various Lansingburgh and surrounding community establishments. She was an avid Boston Red Sox and Miami Dolphins fan, enjoyed camping, fishing, her children, grandchildren and her “Sweetheart” Jim Klee. She was a member of the VFW Post #1019 Ladies Auxiliary in Albany and a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh. Chris is the beloved “Mommy” of Christine A. Ernst and John J. Ernst, Jr., both of Troy, “Sweetheart” of James P. “Jim” Klee of Troy, cherished “Meena” of Pearl, Matthew, Savannah and Devon, sister of Cindy (Booker) Dantzler and Sharon Yavonditte, both of Albany and James (Celia) Bell and Wayne Bassett, both of Troy, also survived by her nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held on Tuesday morning at 8:45 a.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. (Corner of 115th Street and Fourth Avenue) in Lansingburgh, thence to St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh where at 9:30 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy, NY.
