Cecile M. Masterson MECHANICVILLE - Cecile “Minni” Gagnon Masterson, 64 of Tenandaho Lane, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany after a courageous battle with lymphoma. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Peter E. Gagnon and Marie Anna St. Pierre Gagnon and former wife of James Masterson, who died in 2008. Raised and educated in Cohoes, she attended Keveny Academy and graduated from St. Ann's Academy, Marlborough, MA. Cecile dedicated her working life to civil service, working at the State of New York for 22 years between 1987 and 2009, twenty of those years were spent at the New York State Lottery Division in Schenectady. The daughter of French-Canadian emigrants, Minni was fluent in the French language. She most enjoyed vacationing in southern Maine and a spirited game of Scrabble. She was a former communicant of St. Joseph's Parish, Cohoes, and current member of the Highway Tabernacle Church, Stillwater and Living Hope, Latham. Survivors include her two sons James E. Masterson of Mechinicville, Michael D. Masterson (Jennifer) of Latham, two beloved granddaughters Elizabeth and Emily Masterson, her brother Paul J. Gagnon (Joyce) of Ballston Spa, and four sisters Theresa Foley of Schenectady, Lucille M. Alisauski (Daniel) of Ballston Spa, Mary Gagnon of Cohoes, Rose Marie Gagnon of Albany. Cecile was predeceased by her brother Charles E. Gagnon. Funeral services will be held at 6 :00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh with Rev. Vince Finnegan officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
