Everett J. Manning TROY – Everett J. Manning, 87 of Pawling Avenue, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 05, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy on November 5, 1926, he was the son of the late Peter Michael Manning and Gertrude VanOrder Manning and devoted husband of Theresa Long Manning. Raised and educated in Troy, Mr. Manning was a United States Navy veteran Seaman First Class serving during World War II from 1944 to 1946 in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. He was a machinist foreman with the Watervliet Arsenal major components department for 32 years, retiring in 1982. Everett was a role model of integrity, kindness and compassion, a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Everett was a member of the Henry Cornell #234, VFW Post, Ballston Spa. Survivors in addition to his wife, Theresa, include six children Theresa Schofield (Evan) of West Sand Lake, Everett J. Manning, Jr. of Ballston Spa, Michael P. Manning (Nancy) of Troy, Donald F. Manning (Melody ) of Sebastian, Florida, Thomas P. Manning (James Giblin ) of Concord, CA, Lynn A. Patanian of West Sand Lake , 15 grandchildren 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Everett was predeceased by his granddaughter Laura E. Manning, brothers Peter Manning, Howard Manning, sister Mae Dillon and brothers Joseph Manning, John Manning and William Manning. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Burke and the Evergreen Commons staff for their outstanding and compassionate care. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Chrisitian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Sacred Heart Church, Pawling Avenue, Troy. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made the ARC, Rensselaer County, 415 River Street, Troy, NY 12180.
