TROY >> Anthony J. Pasinella (Slug), 76, of Troy, passed into eternal rest on Friday evening in Troy surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Albert and Jennie Merola Pasinella and loving husband of Beverly Waitekus Pasinella of Troy. Slug graduated from St. Mary's School and La Salle Institute, Class of 1954, both in Troy.
He had been employed at the former Behr-Manning of Watervliet and retired from General Electric in Waterford, where he had been a machine operator. He was a member of The Italian Community Center in Troy and a former member of the Troy Elks. He was a communicant of St. Michael's Church in Troy and a communicant of the former St. Mary's Church, also in Troy. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially Sunday picnics in the yard and his Flag Day Celebration, "Slugfest".
In addition to his wife, Beverly, he is survived by his loving children Albert (Beth) Pasinella of Troy; Anthony (Diana) Pasinella of Troy; Michelle (Scott) Van Derheyden of Ravena; Gerald (Kelly) Pasinella of Troy; and was pre-deceased by his daughter, Nadine Wedro.
He was the very proud grandfather of Mea (Dan) Miller, Anthony (Domenica) Pasinella, A J Pasinella, Michael (Liz) Pasinella, and Peyton Van Derheyden. He is also survived by his two great-grandsons Dominic Miller and Anthony Pasinella.
Slug was the loving brother to Joseph Pasinella, Tina Pasinella , Caroline (Richard) Driscoll and Dominick (Carol) Pasinella, all of Troy, and Anna Rose (Anthony) Gross of North Greenbush. Slug is also survived by several nieces and nephews .
The funeral service for Slug will be held on Tuesday morning at 8:45 a.m. from The Bocketti Funeral Home, 336 Third Street, Troy, and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy .
