Gilbert Alan KURLAND

KURLAND, Gilbert Alan Gil Kurland, 86, of Tucson, passed away April 6, 2017. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late, Max and Ethel Braff Kurland. He had a long career with the New York Life Insurance Co., first in the Cleveland area and later in Tucson after he and his wife moved here. Mr. Kurland had a keen interest in sports and followed in favorite teams on ESPN and kept himself up-to-date with world events on CNN. Gilbert is survived by a devoted wife of 63 years, Elaine J. Liberman Kurland. He was beloved and cherished by his daughters, Debbie (Richard) Kurland Rich and Dana Kurland. He was so proud of his grandchildren, Kevin Rich and Courtney (John) Symmons and was looking forward to the arrival of a great-grandchild. Gil leaves a brother, Dr. Howard (Ethel) Kurland who resides in Chicago. He will be greatly missed by his furry friend, Rocky and a host of friends and associates. Most important in Gil's life was his family that he loved so dearly. Graveside Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 7, 2017 in the Temple Emanu-El Section of Evergreen Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in the name of Gilbert Kurland to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY.
