Marijohn SUNDT

SUNDT, Marijohn 2/13/1933 - 3/1/2017 Marijohn "MJ" Sundt died peacefully on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla in California surrounded by her family after complications relating to a heart attack. Marijohn was born in Tucson on February 13, 1933. She had just celebrated her 84th birthday. Marijohn was the daughter of John S. Sundt, who brought M. M. Sundt Construction Co. to Tucson in 1929, and Marion R. Sundt. Marijohn got married in 1954 while in nursing school and became a full-time homemaker and raised five children in Tucson. She loved playing tennis, doing water activities, playing golf, and traveling around the world. She also enjoyed watching sports on TV and was a major UA college football fan. Marijohn lived in Tucson and Pinetop, for most of her life, and moved to San Diego on a permanent basis 10 years ago where she loved the ocean and the beach. Marijohn was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend and will always be remembered for her laughter and sense of humor, her colorful outgoing personality and her love of life. She was a shining light and she will be deeply missed. Marijohn is preceded in death by the father of her children, John F. Bartlett; her son, Sid Bartlett and her daughter, Janice Bartlett Rogers. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Sundt Isaacks of Sonoita, AZ; daughter, Mari Bartlett and son, Fred Bartlett both of Tucson, AZ; son, Kenny Bartlett of San Diego, CA; granddaughter, Courtney Bartlett Kumar (Ash) and great-grandchildren, Archer and Annika Kumar all of Chatsworth, CA; granddaughter, Korie Rogers Keith (Randy) of Show Low, AZ; grandson, Dustin Rogers of Glendale, AZ; grandson, Adam Bartlett (Paula) of Glendale, CA; grandson, Scott Bartlett (Lauren Sickles) of Garden Grove, CA; Mariza Bartlett (Adam and Scott's mother) of Sierra Vista, AZ; Lynn Johnson (Courtney's mother) of Lakeville, MN. The family invites you to a Celebration of Marijohn's Life on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at The Tucson Botanical Gardens, 2150 N. Alvernon Way, Tucson.
