David Leo MARIANO Jr.

MARIANO, David Leo Jr. 9/12/1943 - 5/31/2017 Heavenly Father welcomed home David Leo Mariano, Jr on May 31, 2017 at the age of 73. Dave passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with pneumonia. Dave was born to Loretta Mariano (Sheridan) and David Leo Mariano, Sr. in Weymouth MA and lived in East Weymouth MA until he went into the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1964 - 1968. While stationed at Davis Monthan, he met Linda Callison. They married in 1969 and made Arizona their home. Dave had a successful career in the shoe business and he and Linda owned two shoe stores in Green Valley AZ for several years. After retiring, Dave and Linda traveled and worked together on many projects around their retirement home they named Mariano's Retreat. He was an avid sports fan, ice hockey and baseball at the top of his list. Dave will be remembered and treasured as caring, kind, a man of incredible integrity, a loving and devoted husband, and a steadfast friend. Our hearts are broken and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Linda; his sister, Loretta; three brothers, Donald, Robert, Michael, and many nieces and nephews. Dave was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Kurt James. He will be laid to rest next to his son at Holy Hope cemetery in Tucson. Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2002 N. Greasewood Rd. in Tucson.
