Daniel Keith Lawrence

Daniel Keith Lawrence USAF Command Chief Master Sergeant - E9 (Retired) of Tucson, Arizona has left us to be with his family in Heaven on May 9, 2013 losing his fight with Pancreatic Cancer. Born in Dexter, Iowa on October 25, 1950 and graduated from Greenfield High School. He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald J. and Florence M. (Sheeder); brothers, Clarence (Jim) and Jerry; son, Jeffrey D. (USMC, KIA in Iraq) and stepdaughter, Celina Ochoa. He is survived by his Loving and caring wife of 22 years, Patricia (Rodriguez); daughters, Cassandra (Cassie), Carolina (Lina); sons, Aron (Andrea), Daniel, Marcus; stepson, Jose (Heidi) Ochoa; sister, Janice (Phil) Barker and seven grandchildren. Dan served his country for a total of 41 years combined Active Duty and with the Arizona Air National Guard (Drafted / Enlisted in 1969, Retired in 2007 and placed in Inactive Reserves till 2010). He was actively engaged and or supported every conflict ranging from Vietnam to Afghanistan. Dan's last tour of duty was serving over one and a half years on Operation Jump Start - A joint operation securing the Border between Arizona and Mexico. As a firm believer in the core values, Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellence In All We Do set the pace for his daily life. Some of the highlights and accomplishments of his life are: The love and passion for acting - Feature films he was in were "Groom Lake" A William Shatner Production and "Trade In" A Quebedeaux Production, State Certified EMT, CPR Instructor for over 20 years, Hunter Education Instructor for Arizona, Master Mason, Life memberships in the NRA, AFSA, VFW, Naval Ordie Association, DAV, American Hunter Association, Member of the American Legion, Coached youth sports - Baseball, Soccer, Football, Brown belt in Martial Arts, Competitive High Power Rifle Team for the State of AZ, Helped with Special Olympics annually, Dedicated representative for Dunham Elementary School to TUSD (known to all the parents and kids as Poppie), and a love for helping family and friends. A very Loving and Caring man who will be missed by many. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2013, 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY (South Chapel) 240 S. Stone Ave. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Monday, May 20, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 1800 S. Kolb Rd. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
