D.T. "Duke" Davenport was born on October 16, 1929 in Hebron, NE, the 10th of 14 children of Bart and Frances Davenport. He went home to be with the Lord on May 11, 2013. He was married to Terue Hayashida in 1952 and had four children, Terri Mendivil, Kayla Chastain, Sandi Smith and Joe Davenport. He graduated from Hebron High School in Hebron, NE and enlisted in the Army
Air Corps in July 1947 and when they started the U.S. Air Force
and eliminated the Army Air Corps he went into the U.S. Air Force where he served for 16 years with tours in Korea, Japan and primary stateside assignments at Offutt AFB, NE. In 1964 he received a direct commission to 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army and served in the Dominican Republic during the uprising there and in Vietnam. On completion of his last tour in Vietnam he returned to the U.S. and retired from the military. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska and went to work for Corpus Christi National Bank which was bought out by MBank Corp and then retired from MBank. Later he became President and CEO of the Hebbronville State Bank in Hebbronville, TX. In 1995 his wife of 43 years, Terue, aka Mary, died after a bout with cancer. In 2002 he married Dorothy Moore, making their home in Tucson, AZ. Dorothy died in January 2011 and in February 2012 he married Judy Walker and lived in Oro Valley, AZ. His primary philosophy in life was "HAVE FUN" and all who knew him well can agree that he did. A family celebration of his life was held on May 14, 2013 at his home.
