Duane Myron Jenness

Duane Myron Jenness 82, passed away August 16, 2013. He was born at his home in Quimby, Iowa, and passed his youth in Cherokee, Iowa. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in July of 1950, which eventually brought him to Davis Monthan AFB. After his discharge he returned to Cherokee and married Shirley Phipps. The couple later moved to Tucson. Duane completed a four-year carpenter apprenticeship program. He was awarded state carpenter apprentice of the year in 1961. He was a lifetime member of the Carpenters Local #408 (#857). He worked for many years as a master carpenter. Many Tucson landmarks stand as a testament to his craft. Duane is survived by his loving family, his wife, Shirley; his daughter, Lori (Rick Sturgeon); his son, Eric (Karen Shields) and his daughter, Lisa Standish (Myles); two beloved granddaughters, Hannah and Lauren Standish and sister, Delores Gabhart. A Celebration of Duane's life will be held at Tucson Meadows Clubhouse 2121 S. Pantano Road, Tucson, Arizona, on Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. The arrangements were made by HUDGEL'S SWAN FUNERAL HOME of Tucson.
