Mark Augustine Fay Jr.

Mark Augustine Fay, Jr. 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2013. Mark was born in Boston, MA on June 7, 1932 to Marion and Mark Fay, Sr. He grew up in Boston the eldest of four children. When he was just 16 years old, Mark enlisted in the Marine Reserves. When the Korean Conflict broke out a year later he was called up and served his country. After leaving the Marines, he attended and graduated from Boston College. Mark married Roberta Shaughnessy and had four children, Mark, David, Robin and Karen. His career took the family from Boston to New York, Pittsburgh, New Jersey and finally to Dallas. He worked for Elizabeth Arden for over 20 years becoming Vice President. Mark and Mary Anne met in New York and lived there for the first six years of their marriage. They moved to Tucson in 1992. Being young retirees, Mark and Mary Anne quickly became involved in their community. Mark was passionate about the Community Food Bank serving as a volunteer, board member, President of the Board. He also served on the boards of the Sarver Heart Center and Southwest Medical Aid. Faith was also an important part of Mark's life. At St. Thomas the Apostle, he was a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, served on various committees and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Mark is predeceased by his parents, sister, Annmarie and daughter, Robin. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Mary Anne; sister, Eleanore Dore of Montreal; brother, Robert of Rhode Island; son, Mark (Beverly) of Denver; son, David of Phoenix; daughter, Karen Brimble (Ray) of Austin; grandsons, Nick Fay, Kevin Fay and Ben Brimble; granddaughter, Noelle Brimble; numerous nieces and nephews and dear friend, Kay Judge. The family is grateful for the incredible care from the University of Arizona Medical Center ICU team and the Sarver Heart Center. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Brunch reception at the church immediately following.
