Charles "Bud" MOORS

MOORS, Charles "Bud" entered into eternal rest on May 15, 2017 in Tucson, AZ. He was born on December 17, 1927, in McPherson, KS, to Charles and Mabel Moors. Bud was raised on the family farm. His formal education through the eighth grade was in a one-room schoolhouse. He graduated from McPherson High School. Like so many, duty called and Bud served in the Army. Upon discharge he returned home, and there he met Pansy Jeanette Carley. They were wed on May 22, 1948. Later that summer the young couple moved to their own farm near Rose Hill, KS. A few years later Bud began his career in the aircraft manufacturing industry, hiring on at Boeing, in Wichita. He also continued farming through the mid 1960's. About that same time his career shifted from Boeing to Lear Jet. In 1980, Lear Jet offered Bud the opportunity to transfer to their new facility in Tucson. He retired in 1991. Throughout his life Bud was friend and mentor to many. He spent several summers coaching and administering youth baseball programs in Rose Hill; served as Pack Master for the local Cub Scouts. Bud served on the school board for several years. Once in Tucson, he enjoyed working in his yard, hiking in Sabino Canyon, and exploring around southern Arizona. Bud was a member of Christ Community Church for more than 30 years. After his retirement he was busy working in the church's tape ministry for many years. Bud was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as a brother, Curtis Raymond Moors. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; son, Steve (Linda) of Tucson; son, Dave (Pam McCormack) of Wichita and sister, Lois Willis of Bellevue, WA; grandsons, Grant and Matthew; granddaughters, Rebecca and Kiley and nine great-grandchildren. A Viewing is scheduled for Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at East Lawn Cemetery, 5801 East Grant Road in Tucson. Services will begin after the viewing. A Memorial Service at Christ Community Church will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Arizona Oncology Foundation at www.arizonaoncologyfoundation.org.
