Gale Shelton NEWTON Jr.

NEWTON, Gale Shelton, Jr. Son of Edna and Gale Newton Sr., 86 years of age of Saddlebrooke, Tucson, Arizona, passed away on May 22, 2017. He was born in Kansas City, Kansas on March 4, 1931. Gale Graduated from Linwood Rural High School in Linwood Kansas, Received his BA in Russian Studies from Syracuse University, Syracuse New York and his Juris Doctorate from Washburn University School of Law, Topeka Kansas. He was married to Jeanne Newton on September 12, 1981. Gale had a career in several different and varied fields, he grew up on his family's farm, enlisted in USAF Security Service and Specialized in Russian Language Interpretation, served in Korea during the Korean War. Upon his return, he both went to Law School and started as an underwriter at Kemper Insurance group and worked his way up to being Owner and Manager of Newton Insurance Agency in Topeka, Kansas. With a group of great friends, he then went on to own and help manage several Pizza Hut's in different states. He was a member of Washburn Law Association, American Legion and Exchange Club of Tucson and had a passion for RV'ing, fishing, boating and golfing. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Newton; his sister, Jeanne Newburn (Billy); children, Angela Davis (Bill), Denise Rodriguez (Ruben), James Pfeifer, Stephanie Kelley and eight grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, May 27, 2017; beginning with a 12:00 p.m. Visitation, followed by a 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service, at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY & CEMETERY.
