Mr. Scrabis was always making time for me when I saw him. He was excited to have his son Matt bring friends over.

Mr. Scrabis had no shortage of solid and insightful football pointers and advice. I am sure he must be disappointed I went to Michigan rather than his beloved PSU.

Joe was a great boss and mentor and an even better friend. Gloria and I will deeply miss the times we spent together in Walnut Creek and then in Tucson. Our times in Tucson will just not be the same without his gracious hospitality and dry wit.

"Big Joe" will be deeply missed by all his friends at Desert Sports & Fitness. He always greeted me with "Hi Robert, how are you doing". Everyone loved his big smile and friendly greeting. Caring thoughts be with the family and friends.

Joe was first a customer at our restaurant, but quickly became our beloved friend. We spent many afternoons on the patio with Joe eating his favorite jambalaya and telling of his days in the SeaBees. He always greeted me with a hug and kiss and when he left he did the same, but always added an "I love you." And I knew he meant it. I will miss you terribly, my sweet guy. You will forever be in my heart. Thank you for listening with an open heart.

[Think I deleted my first attempt by mistake]

Joe Scrabis was one of my all time favorite people at Linde. We enjoyed working together including numerous rounds of golf. I recall enjoying an adult beverage in the clubhouse at Olympic Club in SF after a round of golf when Joe remarked: "Playing good golf courses and drinking martinis - it doesn't get any better than this". Joe will be missed by all who knew him.
