Martin Borror Obituary

Martin A. Borror Passed away March 27, 2011. He was born in Westphalia, Kansas on December 26, 1920, a place and time when words like integrity, honor, and responsibility were benchmarks that defined lives. Raised on a farm, he learned the meaning of hard work early on. Shortly after marrying his wife, Pearl, he graduated from Kansas State, became an engineer and set his sights on California. Never made it past Tucson, where he took a position with Hughes Aircraft, Pearl at Tucson Newspaper and together raised three wonderful children. Martin is survived by his children, Dale, Carol (John), Terry (Yvonne); grandchildren, Crystal, Ashley, Randal, and Cheyla; his brother, Calvin (Barbara); and sister, Florence; as well as many other relatives too numerous to list. "When the light returns to its source, it takes nothing of what it has illuminated". What we who knew and loved him will remember the most is his gentle nature and the warm light of his smile! God Bless You Daddy! Services will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY on April 8, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.

Marty was a senior project engineer that had so much background on different missiles that he was "loaned" out on many proposals at Hughes. It was on one of those proposals that I first met Marty and was amazed at his ability to work long hours and maintain such a wonderful atitude. He always had a smile and a helping hand. He was-as Don said- truly one of the "good guys."

To cousins Dale, Carol and Terry and families - We were sorry to hear of Uncle Martin's passing! I have fond memories of our times in Tucson when we came to visit; you when Uncle Martin and Aunt Pearl came to Kansas to see us and our visit with him in California! He is sadly missed!

In the sixties I worked with Marty in project engineering on the TOW program at Hughes Aircraft. I remember him as a competent engineer and a true gentleman.
