LANG, Martin Charles "Marty" 83, passed away January 15, 2018 at Pacifica Senior Living in Tucson, AZ. Marty grew up in Wichita, Kansas to Martin and Harriet Maurie Lang. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Angela; his sister, Carol (Gregg); daughters, Michelle, Lisa, Leslie and Katherine; grandchildren, Ashley, Richard Jr., Allison, Evelyn and great-granddaughter, Parker. Marty graduated from Wichita East High School and was recruited by the University of Arizona where he lettered in football, was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, as well as the Bobcats, Sophs, Traditions, National Professional Civil Engineering Association, Theta Tau Engineering Fraternity, President of the Arnold Air Force Society, ROTC, Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, and Most Eligible Bachelor. He graduated in 1957 with a B.S. in civil engineering and began his professional career as an engineering officer in the United States Air Force. After his service, he spent time in sales at United Technologies, owned Lang Engineering, was vice president of operations for Hilro Construction, and was chief contract administrator for Defco Construction In 1984 he opened Martin C. Lang General Construction Company, later known as Lang/Wyatt Construction, building commercial facilities throughout Arizona. His company earned the distinguished General Contractor of the Year by the American Subcontractors Association of Tucson four times. His company also built many facilities at the University of Arizona. Marty was active in his community serving the Tucson Palo Verde Kiwanis Club, the University of Arizona Alumni Association board, and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon alumni board. He was inducted into the Arizona Alpha Sigma Alpha Epsilon Hall of Fame in 2007. Marty was an avid racquetball player, enjoyed fly fishing, and traveling with his wife. Of all his accomplishments, Marty was most proud of his four daughters, and leaves a legacy of love, kindness, integrity and the value of family, near and far. Services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018, 2:00 p.m., at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 1200 N. Campbell Ave., Tucson, AZ 85719 with a reception immediately following.
