It's been 10 years, and every single day I am reminded of you. If it's not a thought of my childhood, it's a hawk squawking at me. I believe it's you checking in on me and I can only hope you and mom are able to watch over us. See that we have beautiful lives and we all wish you were still part of. Although Mom doesn't have a page of her own, give her hugs and kisses. She'd be happy I've been in contact with her side of the family and enjoy them. Sigh, I love and miss you both.

My father was a very strong family man that dedicated his life to loving mom and raising us kids.He was also true to his employer, IBM, for more than 36 years. Some of my fondest memories are when he came to the breakfast table every weekday in his starched white shirt smelling of Old Spice. Spending weekends working it the yard (only after watching Bugs Bunny and having a bowl of cereal) to build a deck or fix anything that needed repairing. He taught me how to use just about any tool known to man. We even overhauled the engine in my first truck, a 1958 Ford.
He had a sense of humor that made everyone laugh. He told me the same joke every year when we went camping in California until I got it. "How do you get down off an elephant? You don't, you get down off a duck".
Camping in the Sierras every summer was so much fun, chopping wood, showing me how to pan for gold and hiking the mountain teaching me how to follow the blazed trail. Or the evening he came up behind me and Kathy growling like a bear. Lets just say she was faster than me and locked me out of the camper. Dad got a good laugh on that one.
In my adult years we often talked about how the computers have evolved an my my experiences building the modern networks and fiber optics of today. Dad and Mom made a trip to visiting Donna and I in Connecticut one October and we took them to Maine. I will never forget how much fun it was teaching dad how to eat lobster. Oh yes, he wore the bib and dove right in, butter dripping down his chin and eating salt potatoes with his fingers.
I am so blessed to have been able to be with him on his 90th birthday.
The tree has fallen, but the apple shall continue to grow strong because of Dad. I Love You Dad!

To such an amazing American patriot, and much more to so many, you deeply blessed everyone who got to know you! Thank you for your service to our great country, and thank you for raising some beautiful children - one of whom is so dear to me! You will be sorely missed, but your sweet soul lives on and will not be forgotten!
