Aida S. Gomez

Aida S. Gomez Beloved mother and grandmother passed away unexpectedly at home on May 18, 2015 in Tucson, AZ at the age of 95. Aida is survived by her sons, Manuel Gomez (Eva) and Albert Cortez (Trish); daughter, Carmen Cawley; granddaughters, Jennifer Gentry (Dillon), Gabby Cortez and Angelica Perez (Daniel); great-granddaughters, Angelina, Arianna, Bianca and Bryxianna; great-grandsons, Orlando and Rolando; brother, Dr. Mario Lopez Santoyo (Norma) and all the nieces and nephews, cousins and friends too numerous to mention. She is preceded in death by husband, Manuel R. Gomez; daughter, Lucia Nuanez Cortez; granddaughters, Jerrica and Jessica Nuanez Cortez, Arianna Perez and sisters, Adria Bon, Guadalupe (Lupe) Santoyo and Martha Santoyo; brother, Juan Guillermo (Memo) Santoyo. Aida was born on March 24, 1920 in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico to Maria (Nana) Luisa Primero and Francisco L. Santoyo; she married Manuel R. Gomez and moved to Tucson, Arizona where she raised her family as a stay at home mom. She began sewing at the age of eight on a Singer and was a gifted Dressmaker and seamstress; she won many awards for her creative wedding and bride's maids dresses. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2015 at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY (South Chapel) 240 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Saturday, May 23, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Church, 602 W. Ajo Way. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.
