My condolences to Monsignor's family.
Each time I saw him, I'd give him a hug and he would pinch my cheek. What an endearing cariño. :) He always had a smile for everyone. He performed four weddings in my family and my dad's funeral mass, making all of those extra special. Unfortunately he was not able to perform mass for my mom's funeral, but he was still in church for us.
He'll be deeply missed and never forgotten. God bless him.

There is a great emptiness left by Arsenio's passing, but I am certain that the strength of the love that you and your family share for each other and for Cheno will get you through this difficult time.
May that love honor their memory and may you cherish the time you had together.

My prayers for the entire Carrillo family. Msgr. held a very special place in the Old Pueblo. His teachings at Sunday mass and love of the Tucson community along with His mariachi Cobre will forever be in our hearts.

My family and I would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Carrillo family. Monseigneur Carrillo was truly a wonderful person. Monseigneur Carrillo, my uncle, and my father were alter attendants together at Holy Family Catholic Church as young boys. We appreciated how involved he was in the Tucson community. We were so fortunate to have Monseigneur Carrillo be part of our lives performing wedding and funeral ceremonies. His sense of humor and dedication was extraordinary! May he rest in eternal blessed peace.

My prayers and thoughts are with Monsignor's family. I have known Monsignor Carrillo since I was in school at St. Augustine School. He was always a kind and caring person, he was what I thought a priest should be. My son was his first alter server before my son was fully trained,I remember Monsignor at the end of the Mass asked the people in church to give them a round of applause for doing a great job serving the Mass. I will always remember every time I would go to communion he would say to me "Cuata Traviesa". Now you are in heaven watching over all the people who love and respect you. Good Bless you and may you rest in peace in the arms of Our Lord. Always in our hearts.

My Sister Socorro Alvarado just called me to inform me that Father (I always remember him as "Father") Carrillo is now with the Lord.
We were both, along with his brother Genaro, altar boys at Holy Family Church. Later in the summer we both were on a baseball team. He was tall, so he played first base. He had a song he would mouth all the time (I've got the GI Jive, man alive .....). You could tell that it was his favorite.
Fast forward, My wife, Belen Alvidrez and I were engaged and we both wanted to get married by Father Carrillo. In April 22, 1961 we were married by Father(He was not a monsignor as yet)Carrillo.
He must have done a good job, because we just celebrated our 56th.

Father Carrillo was my priest in 1964-65 until I moved away, and he will always hold a special place in my heart. It was a privilege to belong to "El Circulo de Guadalupe" which he began for us young women. May he enjoy pleasures forever more in Heaven with his Savior Whom he served faithfully.

Arsenio was the priest who counseled with us when he was newly ordained back in 1956. She was 16 and I was 18 when we started meeting with him once-a-week, at the cathedral, in Tucson. He officiated at our wedding on October 19, 1957, and he baptized Audri and Erick, our first two children. Later we went on to have nine children and whenever we returned to Tucson we always paid him a visit. You could say that we three grew up together since he was only in his mid 20's when we started meeting with him. Occasionally, after a session, we would head on down to the L&L Drive-in for a pitcher of beer. After all, if you are going to be friends for 60+ years, why not spend some time together and share a cold one. We thank the Carrillo family for sharing your favorite son with us. Truly, he was a loving, lifetime friend. May he rest in peace. Vaya con Dios, mi amigo.

My condolence to the Carrillo family.
My favorite memory of Monsignor was at the noon hour on the Spanish radio station when he recited the St. Francis of Assisi prayer in spanish back in the 70's. Wish I had recorded that special hour. When I think of that prayer, I can still hear his voice reciting it.
Descanse en paz Monsignor Carrillo.
