Elvia B. MOLINA

MOLINA, Elvia B. Passed away peacefully at home on Friday morning, August 18, 2017. Elvia was born on May 25, 1930 in Nogales Sonora, and was raised in Magdalena Sonora. Preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Antonia Barreda and her brother, Manuel Antonio. She is survived by her sisters, Gloria Boyed and Norma Barreda and brother, Alfonso Barreda; her husband of 61 years, Elias and her three sons and their families: Elias and Silvia, grandchildren, Christopher, Andrea and David of Colorado; Fernando and Christine, granddaughter, Lynnea and husband, Shiloh Strunk, great-grandchildren, Brynn and Kason; granddaughter, Alanna and husband, Anthony Batchelder; and Humberto, grandsons, Beck, Rainer and Aiden. Upon her marriage to Elias, also known as Chicky, Elvia moved to Tucson to begin a life of raising a family. In addition to being a caring mother, she fostered strong family relationships, and she had many friends, including the infamous Dirty Dozen. She served for many years as a volunteer translator at Tucson Medical Center, and assisted for many years at St. Cyril School. She was a strong woman with a thirst for knowledge and a love of travel. Services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at St. Cyril of Alexandria, 4725 E. Pima. A Rosary will be held at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.
