Julia Sotomayor CONTRERAS

CONTRERAS, Julia Sotomayor born on July 21, 1921 in Tucson, went to the Lord on November 8, 2016 at the age of 95. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Julia was a loving and devoted mother and wife. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Adolfo Contreras; son, Rodolfo Contreras; daughter-in-law, Norma Contreras; son-in-Law, Albert Finley; parents, Perfecto and Gertrudis Sotomayor; brother, Perfecto Sotomayor; and sister, Lillie Duarte. She is survived by her sons, Arthur Contreras and Richard Contreras; her daughters, Sylvia Finley and Norma Leon; son-in-law, Dr. Jose Ricardo Leon; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Julia was from a pioneer ranching family and traced her roots to the Spanish Presidio San Augustín del Tucson. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, November 15, 2016 9:30 a.m. at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary (North Chapel) 204 S. Stone Ave., Mass will follow, 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S.
